Medicine traceability · GCC first

Every pack accounted for. From factory floor to patient's hand.

DawaiTrace is the trust layer on top of national track-and-trace systems such as UAE Tatmeen and KSA SFDA RSD — reliable GS1 EPCIS 2.0 data, anomalies flagged by auditable rules, and a tamper-evident audit trail that any third party can check.

The problem

Falsified medicines are a public-health crisis — and patients pay the price.

  • 1 in 10

Medical products in low- and middle-income countries are substandard or falsified

    WHO, 2017

  • Up to 169,000

Child pneumonia deaths a year linked to substandard and falsified antibiotics (model estimate)

    WHO, 2017

  • ~116,000

Additional malaria deaths a year in sub-Saharan Africa linked to substandard and falsified medicines (model estimate)

  • US$30.5B

Spent each year on substandard and falsified medical products

SGTIN serial numbers per batch and GS1 DataMatrix codes, ready for your packaging line.

  • 02

    Trace

GS1 EPCIS 2.0 event capture from manufacturer to wholesaler, pharmacy and patient.

  • 05

    Verify

Patient-facing scan: authenticity check, product and batch details, recall status.

Why now

Three regulatory waves are converging — globally and in the GCC.

Track-and-trace is no longer optional. Compliance deadlines have arrived in the US and EU; the GCC is now formalizing its own mandates.

  • 2019 · EU

    EU FMD

The Falsified Medicines Directive requires prescription packs to be verified before they are dispensed.

  • Nov 2024 · US

    DSCSA

The Drug Supply Chain Security Act moves the US to interoperable, unit-level tracing.

  • 2024–2026 · GCC

    SFDA RSD & Tatmeen

KSA's RSD and UAE's Tatmeen are the mandatory national systems. DawaiTrace works alongside them — it never replaces them.

    Our focus

  • Next

    Next wave

India, Egypt, Nigeria and ASEAN markets are advancing their own serialization rules.

About

The trust layer for medicine traceability.

DawaiTrace is built by SAIA Digital to make medicine integrity verifiable end to end: serialized events captured to GS1 standards, checked by auditable rules, and recorded in a tamper-evident audit trail. We complement the mandatory national systems — UAE Tatmeen and KSA SFDA RSD — and serve the manufacturers and distributors who report to them. We are pre-seed and building for the GCC first.

Founder & Technical LeadRejeb Zorgani

15+ years building enterprise and data-intensive systems across the GCC and EU. DawaiTrace is where that experience meets the region’s regulatory inflection point — a standards-first platform built in the region, for the region.

Compliance shouldn’t be a cost center. Built right, the audit trail becomes the product.

How we operate

  • Standards-firstGS1 EPCIS 2.0 / CBV at the core — interoperable by design, never retrofitted.
  • GCC firstBuilt for the GCC first, and valid wherever GS1 EPCIS applies.
  • Rules first, AI secondAlerts come from auditable rules. Our AI investigation agent, in development, explains them — and a human always decides.
  • Tamper-evidentEvents are hash-chained, so any later change is detectable. Personal data never goes on a ledger.
